BRING ENOUGH! TO YOUR COMMUNITY
ENOUGH! began as a national call for teen-written plays confronting gun violence. Since 2019, hundreds of young writers from across the country have used theatre to speak honestly, urgently, and imaginatively about the impact of gun violence on their lives, schools, families, and communities.
Today, our work is focused on helping those plays move further.
ENOUGH! plays can live in classrooms, theatres, community centers, conferences, workshops, screenings, advocacy events, and civic spaces. They can be performed in full anthologies or curated around the needs of your community. They can launch dialogue, deepen learning, build partnerships, and help audiences move from witnessing to action.
USE THE PLAYS
The ENOUGH! library includes short plays written by teen playwrights confronting gun violence through many lenses: school shootings, community violence, policing, suicide, grief, family, race, activism, media response, and survival.
You can bring these plays to your community in many ways:
License & Perform the Plays
ENOUGH! plays are available for purchase and licensing through Concord Theatricals. Schools, theatres, colleges, youth ensembles, community organizations, and professional companies can produce individual plays, full anthologies, or curated evenings of work.
Teach the Plays
ENOUGH! plays are powerful tools for classrooms. Educators can use the plays to support theatre, English, social studies, civics, creative writing, media literacy, public speaking, and social-emotional learning. Our resources help students engage with the plays, discuss difficult issues, and use writing as a tool for self-expression and social change.
Build a Workshop Around a Play
We are interested in partnering with theatres, schools, and youth-serving organizations to develop workshops and engagement models around individual ENOUGH! plays. These workshops may use performance, writing, dialogue, and creative response to help young people process the impact of gun violence and imagine safer futures.
Pictured above is from our partnership with Imagination Stage's Theatre For Change. The theatre brought The Smiles Behind to over 60 classrooms in the DMV area, pairing the play with in class instruction for a 90 min workshop. This is just one example of how a single ENOUGH! play can become the starting point for deeper youth engagement.
Screen REHEARSAL
REHEARSAL, based on Willa Colleary’s ENOUGH! play, has been developed as a short film directed by Jamie Gallo and is available for a community screening opportunity.
In the future, we are exploring a mass micro-screening model that would allow schools, theatres, and community partners to host screenings alongside facilitated conversations, workshops, and local calls to action.

Bring ENOUGH! to a Conference or Convening
ENOUGH! plays can help open, deepen, or humanize conversations at conferences and convenings focused on education, youth leadership, public health, gun violence prevention, theatre, civic engagement, social justice, and community healing.
A short performance, reading, or excerpt can create a powerful shared experience before a panel, keynote, workshop, or strategy session.

The Nationwide Reading is ENOUGH!’s signature national activation. Since 2020, theatres, schools, colleges, and community organizations across the country have staged ENOUGH! plays as part of shared evenings of reflection, dialogue, and action.
While ENOUGH! is no longer built around an annual Call for Submissions leading into a Nationwide Reading, we may continue to organize Nationwide Readings on a semi-regular basis around key moments, anniversaries, elections, or national calls to action.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
A LEGACY PROGRAM
From 2020–2025, ENOUGH! invited teen writers across the country to submit original 10-minute plays confronting gun violence. That call created an unprecedented pipeline for youth playwrights, generating hundreds of submissions and resulting in published anthologies, national readings, workshops, and productions.
We are not currently planning a new Call for Submissions. Our present focus is on helping the plays already created through ENOUGH! reach more people, more communities, and more rooms where they can spark dialogue and action.
RELATED PROJECTS
ENOUGH!’s work has also grown into related theatre projects that confront gun violence through personal testimony, survivor advocacy, healthcare, family grief, and public action.
Solo Performance
GUAC
Written and performed by Manuel Oliver, co-written by James Clements, and directed by ENOUGH! founder Michael Cotey, GUAC is a solo theatrical experience honoring Manuel’s son Joaquin “Guac” Oliver, who was killed in the 2018 Parkland shooting. The play transforms grief, memory, love, and activism into a call for change.

Verbatim Play
TERMINAL EXHALE
Developed in collaboration with Carthage College, TERMINAL EXHALE is a verbatim theatre project built from interviews with healthcare workers who treat victims of gun violence. The project brings together theatre, nursing, social work, public health, and advocacy to examine the human cost of America’s gun violence epidemic.
